Women violence / MATERNIDAD, MIXED TECNIQUE1975

This series of art work with mixed techniques based on the experience of maternity, were done during an experimental period when she mixed different supports and techniques as flexible plastics painted with acrylic paint, colour photocopies, transferences and glued fabrics on a same surface. Those fabrics were framed on painted wooden surfaces creating three-dimensional volumes with light and transparencies reflections.







In the same period those painted plastics were used as part of a violent space for a performance by artist Karen Sommerville that was the subject of their first video presented at the Corcoran School of Art and that was admitted in the Washington's "Projects for the Art". .

Paintings were exhibited at the Dupont Center Corcoran Gallery en 1975, and in Bilbao at the Galería Aritza (her first one person show in Spain) en 1977.
